Oregon

I've wanted to visit Oregon for as long as I can remember. Thanks to my husbands job "perks" I finally made this dream a reality. Although we only got to spend two days there it was a wonderful two days and I really I hope we can make it back next summer. The beuty of Oregon just can not be described and all of us want to spend more time exploring all it has to offer and a whole lot more beach time! We are hoping that Grandma and Grandpa F come with us the next time we head out. I know my Dad has always wanted to go and I really think he will love it.
I cant say thank you enough to my family out there for making us feel so welcome! You guys really made our trip special! Thank you!!!

A Very Happy Surprise

So, yep! I still am in some what of a shock about these two little lines. About two weeks ago I noticed that I was a bit how shall we say...um "chestie." It was different from the week before your period chestiness. But being that we had tried to have #3 for about 6 years, I just figured it was my body being odd. I cant tell you how many test over the last 6 years I've taken where I thought ...yep this is it. In the end they would always be negative.

Last summer we had the "well its probably never going to happen" talk. We decided we were pretty lucky to have our two healthy girls and that it was just time to kinda move on. After all we are like half way done (almost) and all. We started thinking about how we would only be 42 and 45 by the time the kids where "adults." I kinda liked the sound of that. I mean 42 sounds young enough. Sounds like we would have all kinds of time for what ever we would want to do. But alas God works in fun and exciting ways!

Last Wednesday,  the 17th we went to the circus. We took my both my Mom and Daniels Step Mom with. As soon as I walked in the doors I was overwhelmed with the stench of elephant poop. Yeah, I have always noticed it but, this was like enough to make me want to throw up. Smell has always been a huge sign for me. When I'm pregnant I'm pretty sure the police could hire me for my nose.

After the circus the girls wanted to stay at Grandma and Grandpas. It was a rainy dreary cold day. So I decided to make good on my one chance to watch TV while Daniel was taking a nap. I watched a few episodes of that 70's show on Netflix and then I passed out. Passed out cold. I woke to Avary calling me wanting to come home because of the storm and because she is a weirdo about food. I told her I'd be out to get her. On my way out I eyed the soap.com box sitting on my counter. I had ordered a box of test the day before just to prove to myself that there still was no way I was pregnant.

Took the test....

Within 2 seconds I saw two lines.

Shock. Complete Shock. I brought the test out and showed it to Daniel.

More Complete Shock.

I 'm crediting this little miracle to God and Plexus Slim. Plexus was the only thing I have changed. I think its highly possible that Plexus balancing my blood sugars may have made it possible for me to ovulate! But whatever the reason ...although unplanned and at the very end of one of the most stressful times in our lives, we are over the moon at the thought of a new little person to love. God is good. Things come when they are suppose to come to you and I have absolutely no doubt about that anymore!

Easter Egg Night 2013

So, my Sister in law Tiffany and I are trying to make this Easter egg dying night an annual thing. So far so good. We have managed to get it done two years in a row now. The first year was done even with us living like homeless hobo's in a camper. Oh the joy!

Anyway I think I like this tradition...we figure if nothing else, maybe by the time we are Grandmas we will finally have this egg dying stuff down to a science. Last year was the no vinegar caboffel and this year had to do with too much vinegar! Next year, people...next year!

That Kind of Mom

http://t.webfetti.com/images/nocache/tr/wf/rdb/la/bl/1052845.gifI'm not the kind of mom that makes breakfast at 6 am while everyone else sleeps.

I’m not the kind of mom that folds and puts away laundry daily. For that matter I’m not the kind of mom that gets it all hung up and put away more than a few times a month. (most months).

Following that revelation, it probably will surprise no one when I say; I’m not the kind of mom that has a company ready house most days of the week.

I’m not the kind of mom who has it all together. Planner? What planner? Calendar? Hahaha.

I’m not the kind of Mom that always has supper on the table between 5pm and 6pm nightly. I can guarantee that at 8pm people will still eat, and you will have less for leftovers.

I’m not the kind of mom that has a set in stone daily routine.

I am the type of mom that runs through the grocery isle in search of the snacks to bring to our homeschool coop 5 minutes after the coop has started, and we were supposed to be there.

I am the mom in the empty check-out lane signing the birthday card and wrapping the present we are bringing for your kids birthday party that starts in 10 minutes.

I’m last minute.
I’m forgetful.

However…

I am also the kind of mom that, has and will take her children out to play in the snow, at midnight, under the stars, making the neighbors secretly jealous because they have to sleep to get up early for work and school.

I am the kind of Mom who loves to decorate and enjoys giving my family a warm and cozy place to live. (when I’m not living in a tornado ravaged mess that is.)

I am the kind of mom who makes every holiday a big deal.

I am the kind of mom who changes the paint colors on her walls all the time and when I  do I let the kids help.

I am the kind of mom who drives around with the music blaring as loud as my kids want it.

I am the kind of Mom who will make a different meal for everyone on the same night.

I am the mom who will be the voice for my children if they are in a situation where they are uncomfortable, or unable to express their feelings or needs.

I am the kind of mom who would rather make a mess out of the house having fun with my kids than make the house clean and ignore my kids.

I am the kind of mom who believes children should be seen and heard.

I am the kind of mom who lets children set at a table full of adults so they can learn to be adults and interact with adults.

I am the kind of mom that started homeschooling after I realized (while hiding a basement during a tornado) that life can be too short and I don’t want to miss a minute of my kid’s lives.

I am the kind of mom that suggests my girls get bb guns for Christmas. I don’t want them to be scared of guns like I was. I want them to be safe and knowledgeable about guns. So they can upgrade from that bb gun when they are older.

I am the kind of mom that lets the kids trash the house so they can build 4 Barbie houses a Barbie apartment complex and a Barbie highway for their Barbie car.

I am the kind of mom who lets my kids use up all the available memory on my phone to make 500 Barbie movies
.
I am the kind of mom who loves other people’s children almost as much as my own, no matter their faults.

I'm not the kind of mom that will point it out when your child is being naughty. Or tell you how to mother your children. I figure you know them better than I do.

I’m not the kind of mom who knows how many kids another mom should have no matter how different her parenting is from mine.

I’m not the kind of mom that enjoys talking behind other mom’s backs.

What kind of mom am I?

A darn good one, no matter what anyone else believes. Watch out world. I’ve had enough of what other people think is right and I’m ready to fully become the mom that I am despite what anyone else thinks of it.

This Dog

Seriously Dog?! Yes, this is how he sleeps. It prompted me to google, because it is so funny. I found that he isn't just doing this to be weird (although he might be...just because he is him) but the three main reasons a dog would sleep like this (according to a sleep study?!) are

1.They are hot
2. They are bonding with you
3. They are secure enough in their home with you that they feel safe.

Crazy what you can learn and really? A dog sleep study. Who knew?!
